Janos was an Ottoman spy posted by the Janissary Captain Tarik Barleti in Cappadocia to spy on the activities of Manuel Palaiologos and his followers. During March 1512, he was among the spies captured by the Turkish renegade Shahkulu, and was badly beaten until the Assassin Ezio Auditore intervened.
