Janos was an Ottoman spy posted by the Janissary Captain Tarik Barleti in the city of Derinkuyu in Cappadocia to spy on Manuel Palaiologos and his activities. In March 1512, he was among the spies captured by the Turkmen Renegade Shahkulu, and was badly beaten to death until Ezio Auditore's intervention.
