Georgia is a state in the southeastern region of the United States, bordered by South Carolina, Alabama, North Carolina, and Tennessee. It was one of the thirteen colonies that claimed independence from Great Britain during the American Revolutionary War.
History
In 1778, the Aquila rallied the Patriot ships against the Royal Navy, winning the Battle of Frederica for Colonel Samuel Elbert.[1] A year later, the Assassins suspected Elbert had joined the Templars, but he was captured by the British Army before he could be assassinated.[2]
The Colonial Assassins aided the British under Archibald Campbell's command in the capture of Savannah, as they believed Major General Robert Howe was connected to the Templars.[3] A year later, they assassinated the Loyalist militia leader John Boyd, a Templar ally, on his way to Savannah at the Battle of Kettle Creek.[4]
In 1781, the Assassins helped the Patriots win the Siege of Augusta, allowing them to gain access and interrogate Thomas Brown, leader of the Loyalist militia.[5]
The following year, despite the American and French victory in Virginia, the British still occupied Savannah. The Assassins convinced Sir Guy Carleton to order the evacuation of troops and any dissenters.[6]
