Croydon in 1868

Croydon, also known as Croindene during the Medieval period, is a town and borough in south-east England. It was originally part of the county of Suthsexe before being grouped as part of Greater London.

History

In 875, the Raven Clan shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir organized a meeting with her allies in Croindene to plan out their assault of Portcestre, in order to kill the Order of the Ancients Maegester Fulke and rescue Eivor's adoptive brother Sigurd Styrbjornsson.[1]

During the 19th century, the Templars had a strong presence in Croydon, mainly thanks to the establishment of Ferris Ironworks, a Templar-run iron factory, and a laboratory where the Templar scientist David Brewster conducted experiments on Pieces of Eden. In February 1868, the Assassins targeted both Rupert Ferris, the owner of Ferris Ironworks, and Brewster, and assigned the twins Jacob and Evie Frye to eliminate the two Templars.[2] Following the successful assassinations of their targets, Jacob and Evie believed they were ready to take on the Templars in London and hitched a train from Croydon to London, without their superiors' knowledge.[3]
