The White Lie was a katana that Fujibayashi Naoe obtained in 1582. That year, Naoe and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Yasuke met with Hosokawa Fujitaka in order to prevent a possible alliance between him and Akechi Mitsuhide, in turn being tasked with investigating a silver-smuggling ring affecting him.[1] The pair eliminated the underlings and managed to uncover the mastermind's identity, Yoshisada, Fujitaka's second-in-command. They confronted and killed the samurai at Miyazu Castle, retrieving the sword from his personal effects afterwards.[2]
