Ubisoft Montreal is a video game development studio based in Montreal, Quebec, owned by the French publisher Ubisoft.
Created in 1997, Ubisoft Montreal is Ubisoft's first studio located on the American continent.
The studio has specialized in high-budget productions such as Splinter Cell, Rainbow Six, Prince of Persia, Far Cry Watch Dogs, and the Assassin's Creed series, which are among Ubisoft's biggest projects.
As of 2020, Ubisoft Montreal has more than 3,800 employees (55 nationalities, consisting of 85% of Canadians and 15% of expatriates including many French). It is Ubisoft's largest development site, and the largest studio across North America and Europe.[1][2]
