Ishida Mitsunari (Japanese: 石田 三成; 1559 – 6 November 1600) was a daimyō serving Toyotomi Hideyoshi, and most notably the leader of the Western army at the Battle of Sekigahara, fighting on behalf of the Toyotomi against Tokugawa Ieyasu.[1]
The Western army was eventually defeated by Ieyasu's Eastern army;[2] during the battle, the Japanese Assassin Yamauchi Taka killed Mitsunari's general Shima Sakon;[3] sometime after, Mitsunari was captured and executed.[1]
