The Kufa Gate was one of the Gates of Baghdad, part of the original Round City which made up of the core of the city. Located in the southwest of the Residential District, it was so named because the road outside of Baghdad led to the city of Kufa.[1]
In the 9th century, a mosque and the Scholar's Estate could be found outside the gate.[2]
