Heliopolis, also known as Annu,[1] was a major city of ancient Egypt.

History[edit | edit source]

In the Third Dynasty of Egypt, Imhotep, chancellor to pharoah Djoser, also held the post of High Priest of Heliopolis during his life.[1]

Around 47 BCE, after arriving at the harbor of the Ptolemaic Royal Palace in Alexandria, Apollodorus posed as a Phylakitai of Heliopolis while carrying Cleopatra wrapped in a rug, with Aya and Bayek posing as his servants.[2]
