Yang Yuhuan (楊玉環; 719 – 756) was a consort of Emperor Xuanzong of Tang, who reigned in the 8th century. She bore the rank of guifei (貴妃), making her his highest-ranking concubine, for which she was most popularly known as Yang Guifei (楊貴妃). She was a cousin of the official Yang Guozhong, who served as the leader of the Golden Turtles.

After the fall of Tong Pass, she fled to Mawei Station with Emperor Xuanzong. There, they suffered a mutiny. In order to protect his safety, she willingly gave herself to death and was strangled by the eunuch Gao Lishi.[1]
