Vienna

Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria. During the reign of the Emperor Maximilian I, it was the capital of the Holy Roman Empire.

History

In the early 16th century, the Italian Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze sent his Assassin recruits to Vienna to turn Maximilian against the Borgia in Rome. They knew Maximilian had taken a beating from Swiss mercenaries during his last war, and discovered they were working in the Papal Guard.[1]

Shortly after, they found the mercenaries' leaders in a tavern, where they joined them and managed to poison their drinks after they had gotten them drunk, knocking them out. Following this, the recruits carried their victims to Maximilian, who was angered at first but had expected it. With this, he paid the Assassins well, and cut his funding to the Borgia while he investigated the incident.[2]

At the party, Kane and Price met with the baron, his lawyer Karl Mayr, and Countess Konstanze von Visler. However, the party took a turn for Kane and his apprentice, once Simeon had to save Kane from Mayr. Quickly, Simeon used his razor, killed Mayr, and saved his mentor. After leaving the party, Kane revealed that the baron and his lawyer were Templars and they hid in plain sight to find an advantage over them.[7] After the party, Price soon informed Hungarian tailor and friend János Libényi that Mayr's extortion had ended.[8]

By 1853, Kane and Price soon joined the Countess von Visler at her house to view her invention and Kane's power cell.
