The tomahawk was a type of one-handed axe, which was most effective when wielded in close combat. It was commonly used by Native Americans, as well as European colonists. It is still in use today, primarily by special operations groups, or by any outdoorsman, as it is a very useful tool as well as a weapon.
The tomahawk was a useful weapon, as it could be used for stealth kills, melee combat, or to perform menial tasks; such as cutting a rope or traversing ziplines, in a similar manner to the Hookblade.[1]
During the American Revolutionary War, the Mohawk Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton used a tomahawk with a head resembling the Assassin insignia, which he would often dual-wield alongside his Hidden Blade.[2]
Trivia
- In the general store the description of the Assassin Tomahawk states it once belonged to the first Assassin that came to the Colonial Americas, and was passed down through the generations.
