The Starrick Brewing Company was a subsidiary of Starrick Industries that operated in London, England, during the Industrial Revolution. Owned by the Grand Master of the British Templars, Crawford Starrick, it also served as a front-company for Templar interests.

In 1868, the company was responsible for the manufacturing and distribution of Starrick's Soothing Syrup, an addictive concoction that masqueraded as medicine but contained both datura stramonium and opium,[1] under the control of Doctor John Elliotson.[2]
After protecting a woman for speaking out about the syrup's effects, the British Assassin Jacob Frye started investigating the drug, tracking down its distributors,[3] and eventually arriving at a distillery where, along with the concerned scientist Charles Darwin, he discovered the drug's components and ingredients. The pair decided to sabotage the distillery tank by tampering with the pressure valves, causing the building to be filled with toxic gas.[4] The subsequent explosion dealt a heavy blow to the production of the syrup,[2] with Jacob's assassination of Elliotson at Lambeth Asylum ending it permanently.[5]
