The Argonauts is a group consisting of various legendary heroes and even gods in the Greek mythology.

They were named for the ship they travelled in, the Argo, and were led by Jason during their expedition to gather the Golden Fleece.[1]

At some point, two among them visited Kephallonia, where they prayed at the temenos dedicated to the god Zeus for strength to defeat the creatures called harpies.[1]
