The sanctuary is a location in Assassin's Creed II created by Domenico Auditore as a tribute to the greatest Assassins in history found underneath the Auditore Family Villa, with its entrance concealed behind a tall bookcase in Mario Auditore's study. It is revealed by Mario Auditore to Ezio as the game progresses.
It houses seven statues of seven Assassins, though there are six seals missing needed to unlock Altaïr's armor, which is also housed there.

Trivia
- The sewer-like opening at the back of the Auditore Family Villa is the top of the sanctuary.
- You can examine all the statues except Altaïr's.
- The face of the statue of Altaïr looks nothing like Altaïr's face in Assassin's Creed.
