The Sanctuary is a location in Assassin's Creed II created by Domenico Auditore as a tribute to the greatest Assassins in history found underneath the Auditore Family Villa, with its entrance concealed behind a tall bookcase in Mario Auditore's study. It is revealed by Mario Auditore to Ezio as the game progresses.
It houses six statues of six great assassins, though they are missing the Assassin's Seals needed to unlock Altaïr's Armor that is also housed there.

Trivia
- The sewer-like opening at the back of the Auditore Family Villa is the top of the Sanctuary.
- You may examine all the statues except Altair's.
- The face of the statue of Altair looks nothing like Altair's face in Assassin's Creed.
