Monsieur Ratel was an extortionist active in Louisiana during the eighteenth century. He intimidated merchants and stole their profits, which caused them to ask higher prices for their products and give less when trading, thus serving the interests of the Templar Order. The Assassin Aveline de Grandpré was informed of this injustice and assassinated the corrupt man to remove his harmful influence on the trade.
