Odai Dunqas

Odai Dunqas was a cousin of the first Sultan of the Sennar Sultanate, and a member of the Templar Order.

In 2012, his genetic memories were used by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of the Guardian.

Biography

Becoming the Guardian

"Wealth, power... ambition, such things I have seen in my short time on Earth, and reveled in them. Such things are the wonders of man."

―Odai at death.

In 1505, Odai was driven from his homeland under unknown circumstances, and became estranged from his family. He relocated to Alexandria, where he first encountered the Templar philosophy. He embraced the ideology, and called himself 'The Guardian of the Truth'. He soon joined the Templars, in hopes of making his ambitions a reality.

Death

"So it comes to this."-

"You may believe you have ended my life, but the truth is, you have completed it. To perish in this age, old struggle is an honor befitting a king."

Giving out bribes to shopkeepers, Odai's actions were soon discovered by the Mentor of the Assassin Order, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, and his apprentice. Arriving at a marketplace, Ezio soon found Odai, who had just finished talking with a merchant. Ezio then acquired all of the money that had been given and decided to pay a visit to Odai's consorter, a rich man named Komnenos Doukas Theodoros Komnenos Doukas .

Meeting up with the rich man once again, Ezio caught him explaining Odai and his fellow Templars' misdeeds, telling the two Assassins of their plans to keep prices so high that the public's opinion will turn against them. While Ezio tailed the Theodoros, Odai was waiting, claiming that the man could have a permanent position of wealth in Alexandria. Theodoros was speechless and soon revealed to Odai that the Assassins had followed him.

In frustration, Odai stabbed the man and had his bodyguard throw his corpse onto the street, in fear of the Assassins' presense. Ezio's apprentice chased after him, and Ezio, who had killed the bodyguard, ran in front of Odai, blocking his path. His apprentice swiftly assassinated Odai, and dying, Odai told them that they had completed his life by killing him at that time.
