*It is known that the first Sultan of the Sennar Sultanate also known as The Blue Sultanate or traditionally The Funj Sultanate was [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amara_Dunqas Amara Dunqas] (1504-1533/4). After the Ottoman overrun of Egypt Amara used his skills in diplomacy to prevent them from advancing furthur south into Nubia, nowadays The Republic of the Sudan.
*It was very common in the Sennar Sultanate for brothers and cousins of the Sultan to asume the title of Grand Visier then make attempts on his life. By Funj law the death of the Sultan automatically promoted the Grand Visier to the throne. It became a tradition for a Sultan to either kill our banish all of their brothers to ensure their safety. A tradition they borrowed from the Ottomans.

Odai Dunqas was a cousin of the first Sultan of the Sennar Sultanate, and a member of the Templar Order.

His genetic memories were later used by Abstergo Industries for the training of the Animus recruits, under the title of the Guardian.
