Biography
On 7 March 1429, Father Michel greeted Gabriel Laxart and Jean de Metz on their mission to find a sword worthy to be wielded by their maiden Jeanne d'Arc. Father Michel knew of the sword they spoke of, behind the altar, but said they would need to wait for the next day for it to be revealed to them. While the two waited, Father Michel had them accommodated.[1] The next day, the sword was unearthed and Father Michel unveiled it to Gabriel and de Metz before it was sent to be meticulously cleaned.[2] While Jeanne went on ahead to Chinon, Gabriel awaited the sword's completion, before riding out to meet her on 12 March.[3]
