The United Mexican States, also known as Mexico, is a country located in southern North America. It was visited by the Assassins Giovanni Borgia, Connor Kenway and Aveline de Grandpré, with the former arriving there in 1520 and the latter around the end of the French and Indian War.

History

In 1520, the Spanish conquistador Hernán Cortés led an expedition to Mexico, along with the undercover Assassin, Giovanni Borgia. While he disguised himself as a chronicler and astrologer, Giovanni was tasked to locate and retrieve the Crystal Skull.

The group of explorers sailed to Tenochtitlan, where they used translators to communicate with the local Aztecs. They brought the explorers to Tenochtitlan, where they were confronted by their leader, Moctezuma II, who allowed them to live in his own chambers, believing them to be gods.

Later on, as the Spanish explorers grew greedy of the Aztecs' abundance of gold, and disgusted on the demonstration of a human sacrifice, a conflict between the two groups arose, giving Giovanni the opportunity to assassinate an Aztec priest with his Hidden Blade and take the Crystal Skull.

Following this, Giovanni left Mexico with Hernán Cortés and his explorers, later meeting up with Bombastus in Basel.
