Matthias was a Hidden One from the Frankish Brotherhood during the 9th century CE.
In 870, the Chinon bureau's leader Mahaut received a letter from Basim Ibn Ishaq who needed help to dismantle the Snake-Eaters, a faction of the Order of the Ancients operating on the Silk Road. Mahaut sent Matthias alongside Oisel to Antioch in order to assit Basim. While is lover, Aline was sent to the north to investigate Viking activities.[1]
