The Hyperion

The Hyperion was a pirate trireme captained by The Hydra, the Sage of the Gods of the Aegean Sea branch of the Cult of Kosmos.

During the Peloponnesian War, the Hyperion sailed on the waters south of the Peloponnese and crossed paths with the Adrestia, a ship commanded by the Spartan misthios Kassandra. During the resulting conflict, The Hydra was slain and the Hyperion sunk.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Hyperion, a ship in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, shares the name with a Titan in Greek mythology, Hyperion. He was the brother/consort of Theia. The name is derived from the Greek word ῠ̔πέρ (hupér), which means 'above, over', with the addition of the suffix wikt:-ίων -ῑ́ων (-ī́ōn), giving the name the translation 'high one'.

The emblem adorning the sails and shields of the Hyperion is the emblem of the Southern Sporades.
