Ezio using the "Hookblade" in Constantinople.

The Hookblade was a modification to the hidden blade adopted by the Assassins of Constantinople. Upon his arrival in the city, Ezio Auditore learned of this advancement from them, and also began to use it in both battle and travel.[1][2]

Use

The hookblade was designed to make travel quick and easy, and was used in conjunction with ziplines planted throughout the city. It could also be used in several acrobatic movements, such as for flipping over enemies to avoid a fight, or swinging up vertical surfaces. The hooklade can also be used to make Corner Helper Chase-Breakers as a trapeze to get to the next rooftop instead of going around the corner.[2]

The hookblade could also be used as a weapon in combat, wherein Ezio pulled enemies in for a close-range attack. In the new video of AC Reverlations gameplay tralier it also looks like it can be used to flip enemies over your head from behind. You might also be able to combine with hidden blade kills.[3][2]
