The Freemasons were a fraternal organization formed in the late 16th or early 17th century.
During the American Revolution, some of the most prominent leaders of the revolution and the Continental Army were Freemasons, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Israel Putnam and Lafayette.
Trivia
- According to Assassin's Creed III's lead writer Corey May, the game will have a very accurate depiction of the Freemasons.
