The Freemasons were a fraternal organization formed in the late 16th or early 17th century.
During the American Revolution, some of the most prominent leaders of the revolution and the Continental Army were Freemasons, including George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Israel Putnam and Lafayette. The Freemasons were the people mainly leading revolutions, like the French and American revolution.
