Animus Project

Though not interacting personally with the subjects in the Animus project, Alan nevertheless was a key member of the team responsible for reviewing the Animus session recordings, in order to find Pieces of Eden. He has, at minimum, analyzed the sessions of Subjects 12 to 17.[1]
He commonly communicated with Warren Vidic, who supervised the Animus sessions, through E-mails. Once, he sent him the information he and his team had gathered (which included their findings regarding the Philadelphia Project and Tunguska explosion) and asked him for feedback on them.[1] Other such e-mails of his mentioned the launch of the Abstergo satellite, and the handling of security issues.[2]
Alan was superior to Warren, and was able to decide whether a particular subject had to remain in the Animus, or needed to be replaced.[2] He was also aware of Abstergo's current relations with external political and regulatory organizations.[3]

At least once, Lucy Stillman e-mailed Alan about a deceased friend of hers, an Abstergo employee named Leila Marino. The only response she received was an out-of-office notice, despite the fact that Alan continued to manage his other e-mails during the time he was supposedly away; including a warning to Warren to keep Lucy from asking difficult questions.[4]
