Domenico

Domenico was a member of the Italian Brotherhood of Assassins during the Renaissance.

Biography

Born in Venice during the 15th century, Domenico grew up in an extremely poor family. His parents often neglected him, which led to him being sick and malnourished often. As such, Domenico saw the need to join a local thug gang in order to ensure his own survival. While he was given food and shelter, Domenico spent his teenage life in a phase of violence and abuse. He eventually left the gang, believing he was the wrong path.[1]

Domenico was able to find himself a refuge in a local monastary, who took him in as a novice. After years of training and subservient tasks, he was able to became a monk. However, Domenico felt he could not find his answers in the service of the monastery and the clergy and soon left.[1]

In the 1490s, Domenico was sent to Florence where he witnessed a breach given by Girolamo Savonarola. Finding a sense of epiphany in his speeches, Domenico became a follower of Savonarola until 1498, after he witnessed his former idol being dragged down to a path of vilification. After witnessing Savonarola's mercy death under the hands of Master Assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Domenico shifted his focus towards the Assassin, who welcomed him into the brotherhood.[1]
