Divide et Impera

The Divide et Impera was a legendary battleaxe inspired by the Roman Republic as well as its successor, the Roman Empire. Because of this, the blade of the weapon was adorned with a golden embossment of an eagle, a raptor especially associated with the Roman Empire.

The axe was made available to the Medjay Bayek of Siwa via an Animus modification by the Assassin Layla Hassan, who relived the former's memories.[1]

Behind the scenes

The model of Divide et Impera, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Origins, was recycled as the model of the Ancient Axe, a weapon in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and its kind.

The axe's name uses the Latin phrase divide et impera, otherwise known as "divide and conquer".[2]
