Ezio, my friend! How may I be of service?

This article is in desperate need of a revamp. Please improve it in any way necessary in order for it to achieve a higher standard of quality in accordance with our Manual of Style.

Cyril of Rhodes was a member of the Templar Order and was formerly associated with the church.

In 2012, his genetic memories were used by the Templar company Abstergo Industries, for the training of their Animus recruits, under the title of the Deacon.

Biography

Plotting

"What do you hope to hear Assassin? That I regret my associations? Never. Rome abandoned us in our time of need. The west turned a blind eye to the Ottoman Juggernaut."
―Parts of Cyril's last words.[src]

After being publicly shamed and humiliated by the Patriarch of Constantinople for "actions unbecoming the Eastern Orthodox Faith", Cyril spent a decade plotting revenge against his former masters. No longer a believer in the doctrine that he once espoused so passionately, he used his nominal position in the church to erode it from within and further the Templars' ideology.[1]

Death

"Is it any wonder that I should turn to men with more honor, more courage, and more vision? I regret nothing."
―Cyril at death.[src]

Planning to kill the Patriarch, an Apprentice told Ezio of this rumor but they had a slight problem, they didn't know who Cyril was. Finding out who he was from a member of the church, the two of them conducted a search to look for him. Eventually they located 3 different men, but they all looked alike, so Ezio used his Eagle Sense to locate Cyril. It was too late however, as the Apprentice had already struck the wrong man and Cyril escaped with his life intact. [2]

The Assassins managed to track the Deacon once again, following the trail of blood and tattered bodies, and spotted him consorting with civilians. To create a diversion for Ezio to follow Cyril unnoticed, the Apprentice ran up and stole Cyril's pouch, starting a chase, with Ezio following behind. The apprentice led Cyril to a small balconied area where the Assassin revealed himself. With anger in his voice, Cyril proclaimed that he would not let an Assassin stop him from achieving his goal and attempted to fight off the Apprentice, but Ezio was quick to close in and kill the man before he could harm anyone else.
