Christfait was a slave and worker from San Danje, hired by the smuggler Élise Lafleur. In 1768, he was kidnapped by the Templars, who were diverting workers from Louisiana to an archaeological site in Chichen Itza in Mexico, where they planned to use slave labor to excavate Mayan ruins in search of First Civilization artifacts.

Whilst Christfait was being transported through the Louisiana Bayou, his convoy was attacked by the Assassin Aveline de Grandpré and Élise. The two eliminated the guards and freed the slaves, despite Christfait's insistence that they were being granted freedom upon reaching Mexico.
