The Chinon bureau was a Hidden Ones bureau situated in Chinon, France. It was little more than a small room secreted away in a dovecote atop the Bon Berger tavern.[1]
History
By 870, the bureau was headed by Mahaut and counted Aline, Matthias, and Oisel among its members. Upon receiving information from the north and a request for help from Basim Ibn Ishaq, who worried about the Order of the Ancients' growing presence in Antioch, Mahaut summoned the trio to the bureau to give them their next tasks. In the small room, she asked Aline to go north and investigate the arrival of the Vikings, since she could speak their language. Oisel and Matthias, meanwhile, were sent to meet with Basim in the Levant, as Mahaut herself remained at the bureau to take care of its affairs.[1]
