Abigail Williams (born c. 1681) was the niece of the Salem Town priest and Templar Samuel Parris. She was also one of the original plaintiffs in the Salem witch trials.[1] During the trials of 1692, she and Samuel's daughter Betty accused several people to a hearing tribunal consisting of Samuel Parris and another Templar, William Stoughton, among others. They claimed that the accused had appeared in their dreams or visions and had in some way harmed them. The "witches" accused by her and Betty included Bridget Bishop, Sarah Good, Sarah Osborne, and Tituba. The witch trials culminated in the deaths of twenty-four people.[2]
