Chicago is the third most populous city in the United States, after New York City and Los Angeles, located in the state of Illinois. Abstergo Industries keeps an office in the city.[1]

On 14 October 2013, Abstergo Entertainment's CCO Olivier Garneau left Montreal for the company's annual shareholder's meeting in Chicago. However, he never arrived at the meeting as planned.[2] Living off-grid for the next six months, Olivier's vehicle was later intercepted by an unknown assailant, who assassinated him in the streets.[3]
