| My Xbox 360 arrived yesterday, but the games wouldn't load when I was offline. After hours of talking to representatives and testing, I found that I just needed to transfer licenses to re-download my DLC, and have the saves work. I've tested AC2, and I've found that it worked. So, I'm getting ACB's DLCs right now and then I'll get ACR's DLC. | | The way we learn to recognize what people around us say, what our family members say is not genetics, but our surroundings. A newborn doesn't understand words; it imprints on the people who take care of it, who smell and sound familiar. Merely sound; there is no understanding of language, not at that phase, nor for a while afterwards far as we are currently able to tell. |
|
| |
|
| <span style="color:rgb(255,255,255);">The system works well and everything? No problems? Assassin's Creed Revelations's DLC isn't that great but it added a knowledgeable aspect to the franchise... | | This familiarity is born during the pregnancy; all the sounds around the fetus filter in through all the layers, with the general rhythm of the language spoken amongst them. The cadence of words, even if the words themselves are indistinguishable. This helps the child to learn the language later on, but it has nothing to do with genetics beyond being born to specific parents, specific environment. Specific culture. |

| System is working perfectly. I noticed, after the first repair (this is the second), that the disc tray kinda wiggled as it would open and close. Now, after this second repair, it goes in straight. So, I'm hoping it'll work fine. As for my training. I have a gotten a lot of progress. I can't seem to finish the Tutorial mission because it resets every time I drop from a ledge (why?), but I have a silver medal in Short Course 1, 2, and I think 3 (I'm away from home, so I can't tell). In Steath Assassinations, I've only done Hidden Blade 1, and All Weapons 1. I have earned silvers in both of those. In Combat, I have earned a bronze in Flawless Hidden Blade (5 kills is my best), a bronze in Flawless All Weapons (I have 14 kills, which is one shy of a silver).
| | As it is, that familiarity is feeble enough for an early adoption to nullify its effects. |
|
| |
|
| Then I earned a silver in Short and Medium Kill Streaks yesterday, but this morning, I got a gold medal in Medium because I managed to get a high kill streak of about 13-14. The Long Kill Streak is the one I'm most proud of. I got a gold on my first try, and I got really lucky. My highest kill streak was 19 (mostly because Ezio kept using his pistol and his sword for Executions, giving me 2 instead of 1 on the KIll Streak marker), and I killed 44 guards. It totalled out to be 836 points, and you need only 400 points to get a gold. I got double the amount needed for a gold. I'm quite pleased with that. I'm going to practice more Freerunning later.
| | Take a baby away from its 'family', the language they speak, and that child will grow up not understanding the language. Consider the 'feral children' throughout human history, examples of which exist even in relatively modern times. |

|
| As for my story, I'm still working on my Chapter 19, but I made some changes to Chapter 18 which I'll post shortly. | Very impressive... I can seem to recall... but I have gold in everything on the VR but the Flawless Freeflow Combat for all Weapons is the most difficult... I persevered and now have 689 points... what's embarassing is that a Novice surpassed me and has 936 points on it lol... Try the Flawless VR Aegis... it's annoying but it improves you significantly... I have a feeling if I were to try it right now... I wouldn't be as good because I hardly use the VR anymore... | | All the same, there are genetics involved, otherwise, our ability to learn a language is useless... and evolutionarily speaking, it makes sense, even from a memory point of view. Even if that child was taken away from its brith parents, and the language... that child has a greater chance of learning their native tongue, than others who are not native to the ethnicity. So as such, genetic memory is involved. | Thank you. :) Wow, you've got 689 points on Flawless All Weapons? That's REALLY good. *claps* I have been playing Flawless, it's fun. It's easier with All Weapons because you can use Smoke Bombs. Hidden Blade is harder because you don't have any. I have discovered that I love VR now. It's like an extra chunk of Brotherhood that I never played before. So, I feel like I'm getting more singleplayer! It makes me happy. | | ::Children adopted away from their birth culture as babies have no definable advantage to learn their birth parents' language over their peers within the culture that raised them. Nothing within our current knowledge points to that. |
| | ::Question: how would the ability to learn languages be rendered useless by separating it from genes? Even certain animals can be taught words, language, and to use them in appropriate situations, after all. Same as any human. | You're welcome and thank you. Yes, Flawless All Weapons isn't as difficult as Flawless Hidden Blade but it is very difficult... I can keep up a killing spree for an impressive amount of time or as many guards that I have to kill in close range... but I sometimes feel like a guard will hit me so I get paranoid and instead of continuing... I block the next attack... Sometimes, when I play Flawless All Weapons... I'll be advancing very well and other times be very bad at it... Sometimes I'll actually block with my hidden blade and it'll still reset me... I never actually used the smoke bombs but then I got really frustrated and I thought "The hell with it" so I used the smoke bomb when the seekers came out... as countering with the hidden blade is difficult when it comes to seekers. VR is extremely fun and I'm glad Ubisoft included it... without it, I wouldn't have improved combat skills in AC:B... if I did... it would taken a lot longer... It reminds me of the combat and predator challenges of Arkham Asylum and Arkham City... I spent days and weeks on it... just to be good enough to play on Hard difficulty. I hope Ubisoft bring it back for Assassin's Creed 3 because of the new combat system... even veteran players will need to get used to it. PS: The whole signature thing is rather odd, don't you think? Shouldn't it be automatic? SupremeAssassin 20:47, May 27, 2012 (UTC)
| | ::There is a very significant advantage for that child to learn his or her native language, at an alarmingly quicker rate than a child not belonging in that creed. It therefore establishes genetic memory, it codes for the development of "I can learn this language a lot more quicker than someone else can." Why else, when we do learn to speak, we are able to understand a foreign tongue? There is genetic memory involved. Our parents don't sit us down, and tell us what each word means, what the verbs are, what the nouns are, etc, we just know because we recognize the language as part of our DNA. This is also why, many people raised in North America, can all speak English but also a second language. |
|
| |
|
| Yeah, I agree with you on the signatures, but I think that's a Wikia thing, not the Assassin's Creed wikia thing. Short Kill Streak is a hard one to advance on, too. I have 165 points, but earlier today, I was just dropping. I went down to 55. It was shameful. I feel like there's an aspect of luck to getting high kill streaks. | | ::And the answer to that question can be found in our ability to learn... that is part of genetics, if genetics didn't code for the ability to learn, much less, to easily identify our native tongue... we'd be stuck with gutteral sounds. Animals don't have a very advanced intelligence, you can't really teach them to speak English for instance, their vocal cords aren't that evolved yet. | (Haha, I always make grammatical errors... you ever make sentences and then you think you already typed in a word but then you didn't? Always happens to me) . Must be a Wikia thing... a good point. Oh yeah, the Kill Streaks actually time you, so it is very difficult... I don't know how much I have on Short Kill Streak.. next time I decide to play AC:B VR I'll tell you... My memory isn't that good when it comes to numbers. As for the luck part... there must be... no way a Novice could get over nine hundred points.... I was barely getting a hundred when I started... PS: Aegis I was about to press publish but then remembered to sign my post lol! SupremeAssassin 20:59, May 27, 2012 (UTC) | | :::What do you base that opinion on? That baby adoptees have easier time in learning their birth parents' language? |
| | :::And why would genes enable us to learn a foreign language? A language we're not 'related' to? |
| | :::Parents have delegated that task ("sit us down, and tell what each word means") to teachers; other than that, they don't need to. A child is surrounded by sounds (and later, words) since the hearing develops during the second trimester of pregnancy, but especially during its formative years; this inundation since infanthood 'teaches' the child all the basics, and then some, about the language its caretakers use, and thus the language the child 'needs' to survive. Once again, the process of learning one's primary language has nothing to do with genes. |
| | :::If it did, wouldn't the reverse be true? Wouldn't genes make it hard to learn languages other than the primary one? And yet, that is patently not true. |
|
| |
|
| Ha ha. Yeah, that happens to me with the signatures, too. Well, I did all the VRs except the Tutorial Run one. I just can't get it to stop reseting the darn race. Anyway, my story is finished at last. Also, I have silver medals in all Stealth Assassination trainings. The second and third Hidden Blade ones were hard. Especially the one with the two guards facing each other. | | :::Ability to learn is thanks to evolution; it's an adaptive feature. Ability to learn, to adapt, is what has enabled species to better survive. That's the way true evolution works: refine the species, and deal with the occasional atavism as fit. But genes do not explain culture, part of which language is; genes 'merely' provide the fertile soil for the culture to flourish in. |
|
| |
|
| The tutorial run isn't a necessity... I think... Also, the hidden blade ones are difficult but once you find a routine... it becomes easier. You can then focus on fine tuning your progress... I've become so good at using Ezio that I sometimes just mess around with guards because I'm bored. PS: Your story was a marvel to behold... If you ever find the inspiration... you should make a sequel with Link coming to Italy by some twisted reason... or of his own vocation. Congratulations with the VRs... They definately aren't easy to do so you should be very proud of yourself. Supreme Master Assassin 23:55, May 28, 2012 (UTC)
| | :::How do you get that without genes, we'd be left with guttural sounds? |
| | :::I'm sorry, but... animals don't have a very advanced intelligence? No, they may not have culture as humans may define the term. But there are animals that do use tools, communicate with each other, solve problems, express emotions and understanding of them, and work together. All signs of intelligence, even among humans. Once we step outside of human definitions, intelligence among animals becomes even more apparent: different doesn't mean infernal. What's more, there are animals with vocal cords who can be taught human languages, on top of their own. To the extent of a bird being able to string together words on its own to form understandable sentences. And that's not even taking into account written language. If we do, the amount of animals able to grasp such concepts and their meaning rockets. | | ::::@Supreme - As a student of genetics and biodiversity, I'm going do my part and drop by to say language has nothing to do with genotypes. It's a behavioral adaptation, not physiological or anatomical in the slightest. Human vocal cords have a wide range, we created a language out of it. Other animals have varying vocal ranges, they have their own means of communication, their own "language" which is simply something we usually can't comprehend. Kind of arrogant to believe language is something only humans are capable of to be honest. And just to give you a classic example of how your theory on having an advantage on the native tongue is wrong, I'm far better at English than at my native tongue, even though everyone in my family prefers it over English. 08:34, April 29, 2013 (UTC) |

Supreme Master Assassin 19:50, May 29, 2012 (UTC) | | ::::Then I'm arguing my case for naught, I'm trying to say that everything we learn, and have learned... by the time we are born.. has to do with genetic memory. | | :::::Genetic memory exists, without a doubt. Humans tend to think it's better to climb up, as high as you can. Humans don't eat the bright things in nature. Humans fear the howl, the slither, the dark. The genetic memory humans possess is the legacy of hominids, something shared with the apes. But something as transient as a language... not something that could leave a mark in one's DNA. That's like thinking a chalk painting left out in the last days of summer will be there the next spring. |
| | :::::Human beings are far more intelligent than any primitive being? Let's flip that around. Humans see only a fraction of the world, humans have one of the lousiest noses around, and humans can't even live together without destroying their surroundings. How stupid must humans seem to animals... |
| | :::::Almost daily, we are finding out how wonderfully different and glorious animals are. How many variations there exist of a thing called 'culture'. | I've been playing AC2 again. I'm at the end of the game (old save file that I didn't finish because of the Xbox repair), and it still trains me. On rooftops, I wait until the archers have their backs to me, then I fast walk up to them and assassinate them. Using low profile assassinations helps you avoid getting caught and raising your notoriety. Also, I usually wear the Auditore Cape (which in AC2, forces you to be 100% notorious) whenever I do Assassination Contracts. It makes it a lot more fun, and more difficult. | Assassin's Creed 2 still trains me as well, mostly the Vatican but I find it extremely easy now. I don't wear the Auditore Cape because of the forced notoriety system placed on it. I'll think about wearing it when I ever decide to play AC2 again. I might even play the first game, it's still challenging... I mean, you don't have much options to assassinate and you have to get in close and the blending system isn't as fluid as AC2 and beyond. In AC3, I think they changed it up drastically. Connor will actually mimic NPCs if he enters a group of them which thereby makes him blend. I might not like that though but I've been proven wrong before. Also, I hope the combat system in AC3 isn't going to be too difficult to master. Only time will tell... Supreme Master Assassin 15:48, June 2, 2012 (UTC)

Third (Tuesday) is Connor overlooking a battle between the british and colonists. Fourth (Wednesday) is a picture of Rydia from FF4. Fifth (Thursday) is a Skyward Sword Wallpaper of SS's version of Zelda. Sixth (Friday) is a Twilight Princess background. And seventh (Saturday) is a set of alternating backgrounds which include AC BGs, CastleVania, a picture of Aegis Runestone, etc. It's fun. I change every day. Also, about your Legendary Hero background, I hope you kept the .psd file, because it's hard to read the black-on-black text (don't change the text to blue. Blue on black or black on blue is generally a bad thing when it comes to graphic design). So, you might want to change the text color. Just a suggestion. | | :::::::::Suggestion: Think through your thoughts regarding genetic memory, and make a blog post clarifying your point, inviting people to discuss. It's undoubtedly related to the franchise, and it should prove to be interesting. As for how we ended from genetic memory <> language to discussion regarding intelligence... minds do tend to wander. ;) Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:11, April 30, 2013 (UTC) |

| I still have the .psd file. I figured it would be easy enough to read. How about red? I'm making another wallpaper with a crossover between Revelations Ezio and Batman from Batman Arkham Asylum/Arkham City series. For the background, I have two pictures of 18th Century Authenticity images. The pictures are part of the Jack The Ripper tour. I'm thinking that, they both get warped there by some fluke and eventually Ezio assassinates Jack The Ripper. I'm not writing the story it's just an idea for a crossover that I'm going to imagine happening. You have nice ideas for your desktop themes. I just change it when I get bored of the desktop wallpaper. Supreme Master Assassin 17:13, May 31, 2012 (UTC)
| | Ahem! What a nice discussion. Too bad we are confined to typing. I would love to debate with you in actual conversation. Now I want to point out a few things. Firstly, language. Language is simply us using our well-developed vocals chords to use sounds in order to make different words and use those words in sentences. You may notice however that certain ancient languages have many words in common despite originating from different continents. The first thing you may think was that foreigners who arrived in a certain country, used words to describe things that the natives had not named, hence the natives copy it and convert it to their own BUT in some cases, mostly when related to simple sounds rather than words you will find they are universal(like the sound for a negative is always a sound beginning with the letter "N"). This is because they stem from original sounds that were made during the evolution of humans but as humans migrated to all over the world, each sect started using different sounds to describe what they saw, similar to how different animals separated from their original population develop slightly different features. That little paragraph aside, what GI and Sadel said is true, about the language not being part of genetics thing. I'd say its subconscious acts that do not stem from being taught that count as genetic memories. Like the common fear of things that people share(cockroaches, spiders, snakes, darkness), these weren't taught, rather it was embedded in our subconscious. Or the feeling of deja vu that you may feel, despite having no reason to experience the deja vu. |

| | On the topic of intelligence, sorry to tell you Supreme but your explanation isn't entirely accurate(neither is mine btw) True that humans have all this so-called intelligence but what is it that truly separates us from other animals? The key word is "creativity", The very reason why Humans began to become smart was due to their curiosity and their constant desire to find a way to make things easier for them to obtain. Overcoming the fear of fire was a massive leap. Cause every other animal feared fire. Fire eventually lead to everything else. This desire for new things made them develop an unsatisfactory sense. Unlike other animals, we began discarding survival needs and started to develop what is now called "want". On this basis, yes, we can't compare animals with us, cause we have lost what they have and gained something they don't. However you will note that the humans that lead so-called "uncivilized lives" are actually far more advanced than us physically. Their sense are sharper and they lose very little as they grow into adults. In the end, the true well evolved are those poor people that live deep in the jungle. To gain one thing, is to sacrifice another. The so-called intelligent people have sacrificed their base animal instincts and senses. However if you work hard enough there are ways in which you can regain them, however at a cost. You will lose some of the things that made you human. That is how it works. Animals are in fact intelligent as far as the word goes, but they are content with their lives and have no evolutionary need to become like us. If you pit a regular human and some animal in an experiment to catch and eat something, then they will both come up with their own unique way of getting the job done. You would notice that while a human needs to find a tool to aid him, the animal will simply use its enhanced senses to finish it. So you can see that human intelligence isn't necessarily a good adaptation, cause animals do just fine with their average intelligence. Its not necessarily that animals aren't meant to do what we can, rather that they have no need to. Being an animal is so much better than being a human. Look at it this way, at least you never know what you missed. =P |

| Alright, when I get home I'll edit it and change it to red instead... Perhaps the same color red as the "Creed" in the Assassin's Creed logo. Also, I was originally going to have Ezio and Batman in a Gotham City setting but couldn't find any good pictures, and I was even thinking of Rome or Constantinople but it didn't seem sensible. So finally, I used 18th Century London England. I am going to expand the spacing for the wallpaper because I need more room to properly position the insignias and place the logo and title. | | Inspired by the AC3 DLC. The Templar that murders Zelda can keep Link away from him like Washington could with Connor--using a Piece of Eden. So, Link needs to learn how to catch him unawares. Thus, he needs Assassin training from Ezio in Rome to conquer this Templar. I could also have this templar with the PoE being establishing a Templar base in Hyrule. |

| I made a blog post about this figure, though, the blog post is so old that it won't allow comments anymore. Anyway, I wanted to show you this since you love Ezio. This is NECA's most recent action figure, and I always wanted a standing figure of Ezio from AC2, but I could never get one on eBay. They were all too expensive. Also, I got bored with some Final Fantasy standing figures I had, and sold them all on eBay. Why? Because they had the same pose... and it was rather boring. That's why I bought the action figure, so I can change his pose. The AC2 Ezio action figure from NECA got horrible reviews, but on Amazon, the Brotherhood one had 5/5 stars. He's extremely posable, has interchangeable hands, and hidden blades. You can remove the hidden blades to make it look like they are inside his bracer. He also comes with a sword hand, but he doesn't come with a sword. I think they should have given him a common sword and a sword sash on his belt if they had the sword hand in the set. The ebony version of this figure has armor and a sword, but it had bad reviews. So, I got the "ivory" one (AKA Assassin White). What do you think? | Hey! We haven't talked in awhile. How are you? How did your discussions with the missionaries go? In other news, good old games (a site for buying DRM-free PC and most games that work on Win7) had an Ubisoft sale last weekend. And they had added "Assassin's Creed - Director's Cut" about a month ago for $20. It was 50% off so I bought it. It's REALLY good. It runs better on my machine than AC1 does on my Xbox 360 (most of the time). Plus, have a controller that's constructed like an Xbox 360 controller, so I can play it like I can on the Xbox! Anyway, good times. I hope you're well. I had a dream about Assassin's Creed 3 just recently as well, I was playing the game and running around during the winter time going on a killing spree. When you get the Goddess Sword in Normal Mode, the Skyward Strikes charge very slowly, have a short range, and are fairly weak. In Hero Mode, you get the full package from the beginning. | I thought Demise was a weak final boss. There could have been more to him, IMO. He was definitely more difficult than Ganondorf, though. No, I don't, because Hyrule Historia--the official lore from Nintendo states that the power of the goddess diminished throughout the ages. Link is also a different Link every time IIRC, he looks similar, though. | I don't think so, remember Twilight Princess? How Faron stated that "his power is yours"? She was referring to the scared power of the chosen hero of the goddesses. So that meant the Hero of Time and likely other descendents but the Hero of Time is such a prominent figure in the mythos. This has to mean, it's the very same Link reincarnated. Is it just me or do you find yourself kinda missing the Zelda from Skyward Sword? PS: So long as it's good. | Trust me, Brave is very good. Anyway, it's not the same Link because there are three timelines from OoT: 1) The Adult Timeline, 2) The Child Timeline, 3) The Hero is defeated timeline. The third timeline shows that it isn't the same Link. Because A Link to the Past picks up after OoT Link fails to kill Ganondorf. Also, Link has no memory of his past adventures in the Zelda series. The Triforce shards were just handed down from hero to hero. Also, in WW, Link is identifed to be a different person from OoT Link because he has to gather the Triforce of Courage shards. Anyway, yes, I do miss the Zelda from SS. She was awesome. | Why would they make a third timeline? Link is supposed to be an uncanny warrior with a unique affinity with the sword, they haven't emphasized enough with this. He's supposed to be an unnaturally talented swordsman the moment his hands touch a sword. I just don't understand how they would kill him off in a third timeline. Also, perhaps he doesn't need the memories, but there are certainly muscle memories. Every Link picks up a sword, takes a swing, and is suddenly able to do jump attacks and spin attacks. Muscle memory. | I agree with the "muscle" memory thing. Sorta like how Ezio could do the same Counter-kills as Altair in AC2, even though they aren't related. The reason they made the third timeline is so that the 2D games, save Minish Cap and Four Swords, would have a place to go. With the Child and Adult timelines, there was no place to put AlttP, LA, Zelda 1, and Zelda 2. | Another emotional scene is when she reveals herself to be the Goddess Hylia reincarnated. I'm also rather curious about the places we viist in Skyward Sword. Lanayru Sand Sea strikes me as one of the more stranger areas I explored and I have come to a glorifying conclusion... it could have become the Haunted Waste Land we have seen in Ocarina of Time that leads to the Spirit Temple (I once tried to navigate the area as Child Link... no such luck even with the Eye of Truth). Of course the port leaves me feeling sceptical about my speculation so perhaps... *sighs* I do not know. We do know that Eldin Vocano does become Death Mountain at some point in the timeline mythos. Skyloft... could have evolved to become the City in the Sky or... er... something along those lines. The Great Tree found in the Deep Woods could have become the Great Deku Tree and area locally known as Kokiri Forest could have been a situated around there. The Kikwis that we met could have become the very same beings that we encountered in Wind Waker. Also, I would like your second opinion... Why do you think Gerudo Desert is cut off from the rest of Hyrule in Twilight Princess? There is absolutely no logical way to get there other than warping or taking the Oasis Flight. I think Arbiter's Grounds could have once been the Spirit Temple at one point in time as well. I don't know how the Zoras factor into the timeline but they could have evolved from the water dwelling creatures seen in Skyward Sword. Faron, Lanayru and Eldin of course still continue to puzzle me... they make their appearance in Twilight Princess as Light Spirits and yet their forms are so very different in both games... I have a feeling they evolved as well...My only concern is how Link is reincarnated in each new life... | I think they mention in Twilight Princess how the desert separated in vague terms; thus I don't remember. I think it's just a coincidence that the Light Spirits and the Dragons have the same names. I don't think they are the same beings. My reasoning is that the Light Spirits protect the light of Hyrule, and the Dragons protect... I dunno, something. The thing about Zelda games is they can't really refer to previous games, whether chronologically or just a previous game in the series. The reason being is that things in the previous games have no place in the later games. Also, some things weren't designed yet. It happens with all games. I like the scene where Zelda reveals herself to be Hylia. That's a really strong scene with a lot of emotion. Some people on GameFAQs didn't believe that Link and Zelda had a romantic relationship, despite the fact that in that scene Zelda says to Link, "I'm still your Zelda." It was dumb. But that's GameFAQs for you. Some people have theorized that Skyloft becomes the City in the Sky, but I don't know. It seems improbable because Skyloft was inhabited by hylians, and not Occoa. There is a chance that maybe the Occoa took over after everyone went to the surface, but there's also a chance that some did not want to go to the surface. Yeah, I think the Tree in Faron Woods definitely becomes the Great Deku Tree. The Kikwis cannot be the same beings unless they evolved into the Kokiris later. The reason is because the Great Deku Tree in Wind Waker says that the Koroks took on human forms before the flood. So, the Koroks were originally the Kokiris, and not the Kikwis--unless, as I stated above, they evolved into human forms. I don't know how Link is reincarinated in each game. But I know that they aren't the same Link because of the third timeline (though, it is the same Link in MM as in OoT because in MM Link goes searching for Navi). | Well... take a look at this; Reincarnation. "Reincarnation is a religious or philosophical belief that the soul or spirit, after biological death, begins a new life in a new body that may be human, animal or spiritual". Tell me that this sentence doesn't prove that Link and Zelda are reincarnated all the time. What are the odds that every Link has an uncanny resemblance or that every Zelda pretty much looks the same? It's the very same Zelda and Link, trust me. A lot of the points you mentioned I've already thought of to be honest I'm just not sure which one to believe in the most. | All I'm saying is; What are the odds? Zelda I can understand... but Link... there's a mystery. You know the very first Zelda fell into a deep slumber because of a magical spell that was cast on her because of her brother's doing. That's why it's called the Legend of Zelda. A lot of fans don't actually get it, when my little cousin asked me, I just didn't want to have to tell him the real reason. He's only 9 after all... and well... this is some serious stuff despite the game ratings. As such, I enjoy Folkore and Mythology, Religion, studies into the Occult, Satanic Worship (It's interesting to dissect) and the Supernatural. I have a vast array of interests concerning foriegn affairs but... I felt these subjects were the strongest point of my interest. | There is nothing wrong with that; Myhtology, Religion, the Occult, etc are the things that attracted me to this franchise so long ago... Again there is nothing wrong with paranormal investigation just please don't join the Syfy netwrok as a show (it's an American Channel love the shows they have, but way too many paranormal investigators), because deep down I feel they're doing all that to make money, while others actually care about testing the unknown. | If I ever decide to pursue such an interest as becoming a paranormal investigator, I'll ring up Lorraine Warren. What attracted me to Assassin's Creed so long ago wasn't just these studies but also the twist in history. After watching A Haunting a lot I had gained a strong interest in the paranormal. Mind you, a job like this can be dangerous but it's worth it for the knowledge you gain and the people you help. Point is, I'd love to be a Supernatural Detective of sorts. I've always had a vivid imagination and would rather daydream than live in the real world. I mean, why would I live in the real world when it's so corrupted and full of misery? Oops... I'm ranting again. The real world can be wonderful too, I mean if people see that the world is corrupted and full of misery surely it means that a human can contradict that exact nature (another thing that attracted me to AC). | Hm, yes, I have a knack for speculation and deduction.... the main reason why I couldn't get along with anyone on the Wiki in the beginning was because speculation is frowned upon here. I reasoned that Altair had a British parent, being that they were of Christian descent. | It is a fair assumption because this doesn't place during the very first crusade so you have time for those Europeans to come in and occupy certain territories, but if they do want to get technical there have pretty much always been christian Syrians, they're just a minority. Though after I read about his parents at first, yeah I assumed it was implying that a woman of the crusaders came together with a member of the Assassins, making their child not favor either faith. I guess they just don't want speculation because it's too easy (well apparently not for me) to fill in the blank on official pages with unconfirmed or non-canon information. | I knew it was a fair assumption so that's why I speculated it, and Altair was Caucasian looking to some extent, so he's part European. Debating about speculation with the more prominent users of the Wiki is like speaking to a brick wall, you won't win. I also reasoned that since Altair married a British woman, Maria Thorpe that Ubisoft was basically insinuating "Hey Assassins! You know Altair? Yeah, he's part British!" Also, his lengthy altercation with the Crusaders... and other such enemies in front of King Richard The Lionheart... well... he was also British. I tend to think outside of the box, I don't know. I just wish there was a speculation section to each article... so we can add in interesting theories. | Well I can have speculation about the speculation then XD. The appearance could potentially because of European mix or it could've been part of a bad video game marketing trend to white wash protagonists for some reason (dam largest consumer country being mostly Causcasian, even if I'm apart of the majority, I still think it's weird). But the english descent would explain why randomly the King of England and head of the christian crusader armies would listen to a Syrian Assassin instead of taking Robert de Sable's side in the middle of war. Ethnicity doesn't always matter with unions, I have a union in my family of a Sephardic Jew and an Anatolian Greek getting together. There needs to be just a pure speculation section even if it's based on a game so old now. AlexAdler (talk) 00:17, September 19, 2012 (UTC)

| Supreme, first of all, I was more than fair with the warning, as it was some general advice and not a templated one. I made the post direct to the point because I wanted to get it across quickly. Also, on the note of the conversation line becoming too flirtatious, what I was trying to explain is that Wikia is intended as a place for those over the age of 13, but even then, young teenagers should feel safe being here, and not have to raise concerns with situations becoming uncomfortable.
| |
| | |
| I am not blaming you for anything at all, but I was attemping to keep the conversation from straying into those boundaries. I do not begrudge you having a light-hearted conversation with someone, that much is your right, but some forethought must be considered.
| |
| | |
| Lastly, I did not mention the word "insult" to suggest that you had, it was just meant in general terms. Slate Vesper (talk) 21:40, September 25, 2012 (UTC)

| I see, well then I apologize for my... unsavory reaction. However, I'm 18 years old and a lot of the users on this Wiki are over 20, so we're all consenting adults. I'm assuming you're worried about the younger users becoming... uncomfortable with the mature insinuations. So long as you don't prohibit me from having a light hearted conversation, I bear no ill will towards you. Perhaps... the staff (Yourself included) should think about... implementing a certain "Private Message" function for the Wiki, I know the IRC can easily be used as a compensation for that but we're all from different residential areas and the time difference is obvious. <span style="font-family:Trajan Pro;color:#00adef;">Supreme Master Assassin</span><font color="6ce4b0">IL Mentori</font> 21:50, September 25, 2012 (UTC)

| A Private Messaging system where only the two participants can interact with each other would be counter-productive when it comes to moderation purposes, and if logs aren't made, it would mean that we couldn't enforce the Wikia rules as efficiently.

| Since you're aware of the IRC, the only thing that I can recommend you do is to begin to use it more often, or start if you haven't before. Slate Vesper (talk) 22:04, September 25, 2012 (UTC)

| Well, very well! Thank you for asking. It's just when I saw your Wiki username, it struck a cord and I remembered a YouTube user by the very same username. Since it is your first time sending a message on a talkpage... I will tell you this, if someone leaves a message on your talkpage, you respond there... if you leave a message on someone else's talkpage, you respond at that user's talkpage. It avoids confusion and all that. Well... I can see that you have been a member since May 4, I myself joined four days later. I hope you've been thoroughly welcomed to the AC Wiki, we all strive for fairness and benevolance because this is a community. | Yeah, but the combat isn't as difficult as you think it is, it's actually simplified compared to last time. It took me a while to actually master the controls though, you just gotta keep playing the game and getting into scuffles with the guards. Eventually it'll become instinct rather than you rushing to press a button. Like when you press B, you have the option to break their defense with a press of the A, the option to throw them with a press of the B or the option to kill them with a press of the X. I'd use the Tomahawk though, it's the best weaponf for multiple chain kills. | == Thomas Hickey ==
| |

| The reason why I reverted the edit was because the American Revolutionary war started in 1775, which means Thomas already dies early into the war, and pretty much the rest of it was opinionated. | I didn't notice that, sorry. I figured the link would be red, not realising it would redirect to a different person. It'd be a bit strange if Il Lupo was her son. I was thinking we should create a page for Prudence's son, Hunter.

| Always utilize the 'Preview' button before publishing an edit so you can make sure you have everything the way you want it to be. The reason why 'Hunter' redirected to il Lupo was because he was known as "The Hunter" in early stages. I don't know if we should create a page for her son though, we barely know enough to create a concise article, though to be fair... we do have Marcello's article for Ezio's son. So I suppose we could create his article page and input the information revolving around his birth... but it won't be substantial enough to be a good read. I would consult an admin about this.

| Well, I already did a search for Hunter, so I didn't expect the redirect. Besides that, I'm multitasking between editing this and my home wiki. Also, I'm unsure as well. On the one hand, there might not be enough information, but we have other stub pages as well. If we could find enough references to him, and possibly an image, maybe it'd be worth creating a page? We do have a page for the Father of Understanding, and that guy doesn't even make an appearance. :)

| What are you asking me for then? Just some generic ideas? One thing you'll have to establish is where this Assassin Brotherhood is, and which branch it belongs to (Example; Italian, Spanish, Turkish, Greek, etc). Furthermore, if there is going to be a Hylian Assassin Brotherhood, you need to come up with a good reason for this, as well as who the mentor is going to be. One character I can think of, that would be a good novice, besides Link, would be Ashei, considering her father taught her the ways of war and she has Hyrule's best interests at heart even though she can be forthcoming at times. Will Ezio be returning in this story? If so, how much time has allotted since the prequel? Does this take place before the events of Revelations, or is it an AU? Another factor you have to consider is if Link will be using magic along with typical manmade weapons. I assume he'll still have his Hylian Shield along with Master Sword as his primary defense and offense. It'd also be wise to develop a premise for the reason behind Link's induction into the Assassin Brotherhood, it could be any number of reasons, as simple as a recommendation, invitation or personal matters. Well, just think about the things I said... you're playing with fire here :P Zelda and Assassin's Creed fans beware, luckily, I'm both. | Very good question, something which I needed help with as well.
| |
| | |
| Firstly, you're going to want to go into your preferences which is found by navigating to where it says your username, you know, when you log in, and hover the mouse over that, so a drop down menu is shown, then click on "my preferences" to bring up the web page for it. Next, you want to select "Use wiki-text in my signature", this is found in the Signature section of the "My Info" tab, you'll see it, so it's not hard to miss. Then where it says, "custom signature" which is located above where it says "Use wiki-text in my signature", you want to click your cursor on there. Once you have that down, next comes the difficult part, HTML coding, however, since I'm not fluent in HTML coding myself, I am going to direct you to two sources, one, is my sandbox where you can see my signature, which by pressing edit, and navigating to source mode, you will see the coding involved to make my signature look, the way it is. The other source, is a blog, found on this Wiki, that explains, more in depth, how to make your own customized signature.

As I suggested, taking this to a talk page, rather than keep on cluttering an unrelated blog page.
As it is, that familiarity is feeble enough for an early adoption to nullify its effects.
Take a baby away from its 'family', the language they speak, and that child will grow up not understanding the language. Consider the 'feral children' throughout human history, examples of which exist even in relatively modern times.
Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:40, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
All the same, there are genetics involved, otherwise, our ability to learn a language is useless... and evolutionarily speaking, it makes sense, even from a memory point of view. Even if that child was taken away from its brith parents, and the language... that child has a greater chance of learning their native tongue, than others who are not native to the ethnicity. So as such, genetic memory is involved. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 22:15, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
- Children adopted away from their birth culture as babies have no definable advantage to learn their birth parents' language over their peers within the culture that raised them. Nothing within our current knowledge points to that.
- Question: how would the ability to learn languages be rendered useless by separating it from genes? Even certain animals can be taught words, language, and to use them in appropriate situations, after all. Same as any human. Sadelyrate (siniath) 22:58, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
- There is a very significant advantage for that child to learn his or her native language, at an alarmingly quicker rate than a child not belonging in that creed.
- And the answer to that question can be found in our ability to learn... that is part of genetics, if genetics didn't code for the ability to learn, much less, to easily identify our native tongue... we'd be stuck with gutteral sounds. Animals don't have a very advanced intelligence, you can't really teach them to speak English for instance, their vocal cords aren't that evolved yet. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 00:19, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- What do you base that opinion on? That baby adoptees have easier time in learning their birth parents' language?
- And why would genes enable us to learn a foreign language? A language we're not 'related' to?
- Parents have delegated that task ("sit us down, and tell what each word means") to teachers; other than that, they don't need to.
- If it did, wouldn't the reverse be true? Wouldn't genes make it hard to learn languages other than the primary one? And yet, that is patently not true.
- Ability to learn is thanks to evolution; it's an adaptive feature. Ability to learn, to adapt, is what has enabled species to better survive. That's the way true evolution works: refine the species, and deal with the occasional atavism as fit. But genes do not explain culture, part of which language is; genes 'merely' provide the fertile soil for the culture to flourish in.
- How do you get that without genes, we'd be left with guttural sounds?
- I'm sorry, but... animals don't have a very advanced intelligence? Sadelyrate (siniath) 07:10, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- @Supreme - As a student of genetics and biodiversity, I'm going do my part and drop by to say language has nothing to do with genotypes. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 08:34, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- Then I'm arguing my case for naught, I'm trying to say that everything we learn, and have learned... by the time we are born.. has to do with genetic memory. I am trying to strengthen the possibility that genetic memory is in fact possible. And no, human beings are far more intelligent than any primitive being, there might be some animals with exceptional problem solving skills, but after all, you can't teach a dog to write or type on the keyboard. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 18:27, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- Genetic memory exists, without a doubt.
- Human beings are far more intelligent than any primitive being? Let's flip that around. Humans see only a fraction of the world, humans have one of the lousiest noses around, and humans can't even live together without destroying their surroundings. How stupid must humans seem to animals...
- Almost daily, we are finding out how wonderfully different and glorious animals are. How many variations there exist of a thing called 'culture'. The number of species that are capable of problem solving, tool using, emoting is far from minority, far from exception. The key to all this is to let go of the anthropocentric definitions and views. Sadelyrate (siniath) 20:06, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- When it comes to cunning and intellect, we are the shepards of our existence and the architects of our foundations, humans are by no means... the perfect species nor the most biologically efficient race out there, there are animals with far better senses and instincts, than a human being. Animals that far stronger, faster and perhaps... animals that live for much longer, but when it comes to intelligence... humans outclass every animal on this planet. I for one believe, humans are weak and feeble minded, introducing genetic engineering might fix this issue... Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 20:46, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- If one uses human standards, then yes. Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:02, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- You don't mean to imply that a dog is smarter than me? Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 21:05, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- All I'm saying is that if one sets the standards to favour humans, of course humans are going to come up on top. "If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it's stupid," as Einstein put it. Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:20, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- It's physiologically impossible for a fish to climb a tree, much less, to come out of water and thrive on land. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 21:31, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- Miss the point there much? Sadelyrate (siniath) 23:25, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
- No, I'm strengthening the point, animals aren't meant to do the things humans can do. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 00:26, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- And yet, you're okay with deeming their intelligence infernal, using human standards? Sadelyrate (siniath) 04:35, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- There's no other way to measure their intelligence, there hasn't been an established "animal" method. There's only a human method, and it'll have to do. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 05:57, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Using human standards, one should only consider humans, and even within that sample, there are multiple variables. The moment one begins to consider something other than humans, one tosses out the human standards and builds up new ones, based on the object of observation. For intelligence, there are other methods. If only because 'intelligence' is an abstract, the definition of which fluctuates, from study to study, person to person. When one is faced with "there is no other way"... a new way is made.
- No matter what standards, what 'methods' are in use, though, deeming something infernal because it's different... nothing good lies down that road. Sadelyrate (siniath) 08:49, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- We're arguing in circles, how did we go from the theory of genetic memory, to this? This wasn't the point I was trying to make. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 19:04, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Suggestion: Think through your thoughts regarding genetic memory, and make a blog post clarifying your point, inviting people to discuss. It's undoubtedly related to the franchise, and it should prove to be interesting. As for how we ended from genetic memory <> language to discussion regarding intelligence... minds do tend to wander. ;) Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:11, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
Hope these pointless lectures helped you in some way. ^_^ I know they help other people.Fairy Tail Grand Master<F.T.G.M. >
No offence :P But I'm just too darn lazy to read all this. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 19:04, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
Humans are animals to. The funny thing is that we is the only thing on this planet to cut down trees. Then write "Save Them" on paper.--ACsenior (talk) 16:45, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
Actually, if you're religious, you'll believe just the opposite of that spectrum.. that human beings aren't in fact... animals but a class of their own construction... Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 19:04, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
- Depends on the person, either way, really. There are stories, after all, how Eve was created from a tuft of a fox's tail... and others who'd rather exchange homo sapiens sapiens with pan narrans... Sadelyrate (siniath) 21:11, April 30, 2013 (UTC)
First of all, don't forget to sign your posts.
That sounds interesting, though I don't know how he'll be able to recruit to Hyruleans to his cause. Any ideas? Other than the Piece of Eden. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 18:29, April 29, 2013 (UTC)
Hey man,
Just wanted to let you know that when creating a new article, try to make it relevant to AC :) Thanks, --Fragment -Animus- 03:28, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
It was, I left a message on your talk page. This isn't my first rodeo :) Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 03:29, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
- Ya I picked that up, just your summery of it made me a bit confused xD --Fragment -Animus- 21:30, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
- How so? :P I'm usually more detailed orientated in my summaries, turns out someone created a link for his name, accidentally... otherwise, that article would have been good to stay. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 22:17, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
- It said something like "im new to this"...which I thought was odd cause you quite obviously arnt xD...anyway, its past now, peace! --Fragment -Animus- 23:20, May 1, 2013 (UTC)
- Well, I stated that because I'd never written an article before, I was always editing them. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 02:37, May 2, 2013 (UTC)
I saw that your image was unused, well, I've contested the deletion and put the file in the gallery of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag.
PS: I helped you, but you don't owe me anything :) Altaïr Skywalker 47 Pigeon Coop 09:47, May 11, 2013 (UTC)
Thanks I guess, I tried uploading it to the gallery myself but it got removed. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 00:45, May 13, 2013 (UTC)
- It got removed by Nesty on the grounds of 'Trailer Image' (I got a notification via email). Altaïr Skywalker 47 Pigeon Coop 04:25, May 13, 2013 (UTC)
- Of course... so how does it make sense to put it back there again? It's only going to get deleted... once again... Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 19:03, May 13, 2013 (UTC)
When a staff member sends a warning to another member on the wiki, there is no need to add to it or interfere in it. Thank you. Nesty Contact me! 08:35, July 6, 2013 (UTC)
Here's your darkened Batman with the swarming bats. You didn't specify a background, so I left it transparent. Sorry about the delay, been really busy. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 11:23, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
I sincerely thank you for having taken the time to do this for me. It's alright, I didn't mind waiting. --Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 15:44, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
You're welcome. Need anything else? ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 16:02, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
There is perhaps one thing you could help me with, as you've noticed I created an archive of my old talk page (Since it got so cluttered (In my opinion) but I can't seem to get it to appear on my talk page header or at least, get it so that it says "Archive 1" in a fancy way, I tried a bunch of coding but it didn't do the job, so I don't know what if I did anything wrong. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 16:56, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
You could add the link in the box you've got by using <br/> to create a new line and <center> tags. Would that work? If you want, I could try tweaking the coding, with your permission. ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 17:25, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
That would be best, I am still quite unfamiliar with the coding. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 19:18, August 2, 2013 (UTC)
That wasn't so hard. Hope you're happy :) ~ GI Auditore Comms Channel 10:50, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
I am, thank you very much for the help. --Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 15:50, August 4, 2013 (UTC)
"If you had nothing nice to say, you didn't need to comment on the forum. I probably shouldn't feel justified in having to send this response to you, but somehow I feel your statement was uncalled for. You don't agree or like something? Avoid it. Simple. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 06:46, November 7, 2012 (UTC)"
You are a complete fuckhead with no authority, you simply are an egotistical bastard. I don't need nor want your opinion, nor do I care how you 'feel' about my statement. Fuckhead.
bonzi_06 (talk) 02:35, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
PS I don't give a flying fuck if this is nearly a year later. xo
I'm a changed man, I'm afraid your grudge is no longer needed. If it's any consolation, I am sorry for the statement I made. I don't even remember what it was for, and what you had said but this is in the past, and I'd like to keep it there. PS: Also, could you please not use such offensive language? It's really not necessary. Thank you. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 02:49, August 7, 2013 (UTC)
And just who the hell are you anyway? How are you more popular than me even if you joined after I did? Hadron12 (talk) 07:56, March 25, 2014 (UTC)
I have no idea what you're talking about, or why you feel the need to ask me who I am, because I could very well ask you the same thing. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras15:21, Feb 06, 2014} 14:07, April 3, 2014 (UTC)
In that case, you should consider visiting my talk page in your spare time. Andromeda386 (talk) 22:31, May 4, 2014 (UTC)
SupremeAssassin, can you please explain why, when replying to this discussion on the talk page of Herakles, you removed all other responses by other users in place of yours? You also removed the talkheader message for some reason. As an aside, your subsequent edit on the article was unnecessary and a bit disruptive because the Wiki template should be used when linking to Wikipedia articles as it is more concise than typing out the entire URL as you did. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 00:19, November 6, 2018 (UTC)
Did I do that? Crap, I didn't realize that happened. I don't think I removed any replies, did I? I still saw the messages on there. Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 01:26, November 6, 2018 (UTC)
- Well, I restored them you see. :P But alright, it was an accident. Sol Pacificus(Cyfiero) 06:20, November 6, 2018 (UTC)
- Alright, then there was no real harm done then. :P Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 17:48, December 12, 2018 (UTC)
I agree with you. I don't think anybody really pays any attention to topic titles. On this or any wiki 02:45, September 20, 2020 (UTC)
You'll have to remind me of the specifics, mate. I don't visit the AC Wiki as often anymore. Was this mentioned in a forum, perchance? Supreme Master AssassinO Mentoras 15:38, October 20, 2020 (UTC)
