The French and Indian War was a series military conflicts between 1754 and 1763. It saw the colonial possessions of the British Empire and their Native American allies combat their French colonial counterpart and their own native allies. A North American theatre of the much wider Seven Years War, the conflict which started as minor dispute along frontiers separating New France from the British colonies erupted during the Battle of Jumonville Glen in May 1754, during which Virginia militiamen under the command of George Washington ambushed a French patrol. After failed operations from between 1954-1957 by the British military, they successfully invaded the New France between 1958-1960.
The war ended with the ceding of Canada and Florida to Britain affirming it's position as the dominant colonial power in the eastern half of North America and ensured the survival of the Thirteen Colonies.

The Constantine District was one of the four major districts of Constantinople during the Renaissance. Home to the city's poorest, it was full of ramshackle wooden buildings with highly mismatched rooftops. Amid the housing stood potent reminders of the city's opulent past, such as the Valens Aqueduct. The majority of the Byzantine guards that patrolled the streets of Constantinople thrived here in the Constantine district.
