The Smelting Foundry was the industrial district in the city of Uldar, Gullnámar, in Svartálfaheimr. During the warlord Surtr's invasion, his Muspel force took control of the district and refurnished it as a jail for insurgent dwarves.
History[edit | edit source]
In Eivor Varinsdottir's visions of Odin's time in Svartalfheim, the Æsir lord Havi traveled to the district and ventured into the caverns to find Gunborg's informant Fritjof. While investigating the area, he discovered some jail cells and eventually found Fritjof's cousin Tyra. After rescuing her, they both escaped the foundry, and Tyra began to lead the way to Fritjof.[1] While he was in foundry, Havi also found a chest behind a destructible wall, opened it, and acquired the Fire Giant Bracers. He also recovered an uncut gemstone within a hole of the foundry.[2]
