Rio de Janeiro is the capital city of the State of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
History[edit | edit source]
On 14 May 1501, on his third voyage across the Atlantic Ocean, Amerigo Vespucci reached Rio de Janeiro Bay and Rio de la Plata.[1]
By 1719, the Templars had a safehouse located in Rio de Janeiro, which was used to store blood vials containing the blood of members of their Order, including Woodes Rogers and Benjamin Hornigold.[2]
In the early 18th century, Rio's port was a hub for learning about business opportunities with merchants,[3] as much as it was also filled with rich outlaws.[4] The Caribbean-based pirate Edward Kenway sent his fleet to trade with both groups in the city.[3][4]
During the Seven Years' War, the Templar Shay Cormac sent ships filled with spies to the city in order to help further Templar influence.[5] As the Templars established a foothold over the city, they requested another shipload of spies.[6]
