Readingum Abbey

Readingum Abbey was an Anglo-Saxon abbey located in Readingum, Hamtunscire, England.

History[edit | edit source]

In the 870s, the abbey was raided by the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir and her longship's crew.[1] During the raid, Eivor followed up on a clue from the Henge Farm about the identity of "The Oil", an Order of the Ancients member. Searching the abbey's pig farm, Eivor broke open a closed well, went down to investigate, and found the last clue about The Oil, which gave his true identity to be the priest Yohanes Loukas, and his current location near Fearnhamme.[2]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

Historically, the abbey was founded in 1121 by Henry I of England,[3] making its inclusion in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, set over two centuries earlier, anachronistic.
