An Orb of Hades was a piece of Isu technology found in the simulation of Tartaros. Named after the god of the underworld, Hades, these orbs were red balls of light floating in mid-air.[1]
The orbs were similar in use to the Torches of Hypnos. When shot, they gave off a damaging burst of energy, resulting in damage to all individuals in the immediate area. Every orb had two charges, and would be destroyed upon using both.[1]
During the Peloponnesian War, the Spartan misthios Kassandra encountered and destroyed numerous Orbs of Hades during her travels in Tartaros. Unlike the Torches of Hypnos, the orbs also affected Kassandra, draining her health if she got too close.[1]
