Kabul is the capital of Afghanistan.

In January 1842, after uprisings in the city, the British Army reached agreements with Afghan leader Akbar Khan for safe passage and an escort through the passes to Jalalabad, as well as assurances that the sick and wounded left in Kabul would be unharmed. After roughly an hour since the start of the march, Khan went back on his word and his men moved in to loot, burn tents, and kill the wounded left in Kabul.[1]
