An unidentified male of Moorish origin served as a personal bodyguard to Galeazzo Maria Sforza, Duke of Milan. On the 26th of December 1467, the bodyguard accompanied Sforza to the church for High Mass, unaware of a Templar plot to murder the Duke. When the conspirators struck, the bodyguard immediately engaged and killed several before joining the Assassin Giovanni Auditore da Firenze, who had arrived too late to intervene, in chasing down the man who had struck the first blow, Giovanni Andrea Lampugnani. Cornering the man against the wall, the bodyguard hooked the end of his battle-staff around Lampugnani's throat and, despite Giovanni's pleas not to, killed the Templar by snapping his neck, spitting upon the corpse for good measure. Sadly, however, Duke Sforza had succumbed to his wounds and the bodyguard was left mourning over the body and his failure. What happened to him afterwards is unknown.

Biography[edit | edit source]

On 26 December 1476, Ali accompanied Sforza to the Basilica di Santo Stefano Maggiore for High Mass, unaware of a Templar plot to murder the Duke. Cornering him against a wall, Ali hooked the end of his battle-staff around Lampugnani's throat and, despite Giovanni's pleas not to, killed the Templar by snapping his neck. After spitting on Lampugnani's corpse, he went to mourn Sforza, who had died of his wounds.[1]
