Eldi was a dwarven blacksmith in Norse mythology.
Mythology[edit | edit source]
Prior to the invasion of Svartálfaheimr by the Muspels, Eldi was the foreman of a clan of dwarven smiths. He was visited by Loki and Baldr who asked him to craft an exquisite bejeweled crown (though on some tales it was a necklace instead). With rumors of a brewing war, Eldi had to be convinced by the pair to use his time into such a distraction. After some time, Baldr returned with enough jewels for the crown and Eldi finished his craft.[1]
