An Assassin of the Egyptian Brotherhood was active in Cairo in the mid-13th century. He was tasked to bring the Scepter of Aset to the Mamluks to aid them in theirslave revolt against the rule of the Ayyubid dynasty.
Biography[edit | edit source]
In the early 13th century, the Egyptian Assassins acquired the Scepter of Aset from a merchant, who had purchased it from Italian fishermen that had recovered it from a centuries-old Roman shipwreck. In 1250, after the Mamluks rose up against the reigning Ayyubid dynasty, the Brotherhood, who had formed an alliance with the Mamluks, tasked this Egyptian Assassin with delivering the Scepter to them.[1]
However, while on his way to deliver the artifact in Cairo, the Assassin was attacked by several Templar knights. Despite being injured, he managed to kill the Templars and successfully brought the Scepter to the Mamluks. This allowed them to succeed in their revolt against their Ayyubid overlords, and effectively laid the foundation for the Bahri dynasty.[1]
