Egbert was an Ulfberht-style short sword that was purportedly forged with the goal of being stronger and more nimble than other, larger blades of the time.[1]
In the late 880s, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan found and claimed the weapon at Blihaut from a Norse thief during her aid for Sigfred's efforts in laying siege to Paris.[2]
