Donato was known as the greatest rider in all of [[Cesare Borgia|Cesare Borgia's]] army, a title Cesare envied. So Cesare ordered [[Fiora Cavazza]] to make Donato lose a race with him, through bribery or violence. He was offered an ornate suit of armor and many other gifts but he refused to back down steadfastly preaching that the winner is the winner.<br />
