Aconyte Books is an English publishing company and imprint of Asmodee Entertainment. It was founded in 2020 with the mission of producing tie-in novels for pop culture media.

History[edit | edit source]

Founded in 2020 as an imprint of Asmodee Entertainment, Aconytes first employees were Marc Gascoigne, hired to run the company, assistant editor Lottie Llewelyn-Wells, and publishing coordinator Nick Tyler. They began publishing in early summer 2020, producing paperbacks and e-books for the United States, United Kingdom and export markets. As well as a range of fiction based on Asmodee’s properties, they also plan to publish some third-party IPs.[1]

Ubisoft partnered with Aconyte in September 2020, initially to publish books to tie-in with the then-upcoming game Watch Dogs: Legion.[2] In February 2021, Aconyte were announced as the English publisher of Assassin's Creed: The Ming Storm, the first of a new trilogy adapting the spin-off game Assassin's Creed Chronicles: China featuring the Chinese Assassin Shao Jun. The novel was first released in 2019 and written by Yan Leisheng.[3] It was later announced in April, that Aconyte would be publish two completely new trilogies, one related to Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, and another as-of-yet unrevealed.[4]

That other unannounced trilogy would later be revealed to be The Engine of History written by Kate Heartfield. Announced in June at the series' 15th anniversary celebration, the first novel The Magus Conspiracy was released in August.[5]
