The Bleasby Swamp was a swamp north of the Dubras River and Nottingham in Nottinghamshire, England. During the medieval period, it served as the home of a legendary wild boar known as The Blood Swine.

In the 870s, the Viking Eivor Varinsdottir visited the swamp during her travels in the shire. After a hard battle, Eivor defeated and killed The Blood Swine and looted its pelt.[1]

Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]

The swamp references the real-life village of Bleasby.
