After finding his scout Olav dead, Halfdan had Beonton follow the murderers' scents. Arriving at the Petuaria Ruins, Beonton led Eivor and Halfdan to investigate and find Ulf and his men, who had gathered riches for themselves. Despite Ulf's protests that his men were owed the treasure as war spoils and had accidentally killed Olav after mistaking him for a thief, Halfdan would not hear it and slew the group for what he deemed as treason.[1]
