Michael Sean Tan is a Filipino artist serving as a Level Designer for Ubisoft Philippines.
Biography[edit | edit source]
Early life and career[edit | edit source]
Michael Sean Tan graduated from the University of the Philippines in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing. In 2002, he landed a job at Anino Entertainment, later Anino Games, and was responsible for the writing, level design, and sound direction of the 2003 video game Anito: Defend a Land Enraged the first Filipino-developed game in history.[1]
In 2012, he was the Lead Level Designer of RealU and worked on the MMO Otherlands. From 2013 to 2016 he worked on numerous free-to-play casual mobile games.[1]
Assassin's Creed[edit | edit source]
In a 2023 showcase of Filipino talent at Ubisoft Philippines, on the development of Assassin's Creed: Mirage, Sean Tan commented "The challenge was in taking a world that people have only read about in historical texts and translating that into a satisfying player experience."[2]
